 Academic Redesign

Beginning with the freshman class of 2010, Woodrow Wilson High School has implemented four academies from which students may choose as their primary area of academic focus:

The students in these academies will gain knowledge and skills specific to their post-secondary education and in the world of work, while still benefiting from the activities and programs offered within a comprehensive high school setting.

 Our Dedication Minimize

Woodrow is dedicated to being internationally minded. This means we strive toward:

  • An understanding and celebration of the value of diversity, in all its forms

  • Empathy for those who are different, while retaining pride in one’s own identity

  • Open-minded inquiry accompanied by critical thinking about what is discovered via that inquiry

  • A belief in the value of pluralism

  • Adaptability, or comfort with and the capacity to cope with rapid change

  • An understanding of the need for balancing interdependence with independence

  • An understanding that individuals can improve the state of the world, and an accompanying acceptance of the responsibility to take action to do so.
